Polynucleotide treatment in Oxford
Polynucleotides are highly purified DNA fragments used in modern aesthetic medicine as a regenerative, bio-stimulatory skin treatment. They act as biological signalling molecules that help support the skin’s natural repair processes, improve cellular function and restore skin quality at a deeper structural level.
At Fisher Clinics, we deliver polynucleotide therapy using Rejuran®, one of the most established and widely recognised polynucleotide formulations in aesthetic medicine.
Rather than adding volume or altering facial shape, polynucleotide treatment focuses on improving the health, strength and resilience of the skin itself. In clinical practice, polynucleotides are used to help:
support fibroblast activity
encourage dermal repair and renewal
improve skin hydration and skin density
promote new collagen and elastin production
enhance the skin’s natural healing and recovery response
This makes polynucleotide therapy particularly suited to patients seeking a natural, regenerative approach to skin quality improvement, with results that develop progressively over time.
All treatments at Fisher Clinics are performed by an experienced medical doctor following a personalised consultation and skin assessment.
You may consider combining your treatment with wrinkle relaxation, subdermal filler or mesotherapy treatments, to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles or restore tissue volume loss.
What is the treatment experience?
A Polynucleotide (Rejuran) treatment usually takes around 30 minutes.
A topical numbing cream may be applied beforehand to maximise comfort.
The treatment is delivered using precise micro-injections placed into targeted areas of the superficial dermis, allowing the polynucleotides to interact directly with skin cells and regenerative pathways.
Immediately after treatment, it is normal to experience:
mild redness
small raised bumps at injection sites
slight swelling or bruising
The bumps typically settle within 12–48 hours so planning the timing of your treatment is important.
For optimal skin regeneration and long-term results, a course of treatments is usually recommended - most commonly three sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart, followed by tailored maintenance treatments as part of an ongoing skin health programme.
What is Rejuran®?
Rejuran® is a medical-grade polynucleotide injectable that originated in South Korea, developed from regenerative medicine research into tissue repair and wound healing.
The active ingredient in Rejuran is produced from highly purified DNA fragments derived from wild salmon. Salmon DNA is used because of its close biological compatibility with human DNA, enabling the material to be processed into a stable and highly biocompatible polynucleotide formulation suitable for use in the skin.
During manufacture, the raw DNA undergoes multiple purification and refinement stages to remove proteins and impurities, leaving only the polynucleotide chains that are used in aesthetic medicine for their regenerative and reparative properties.
Rejuran was originally developed as a medical regenerative product before being adapted for aesthetic use as an injectable treatment focused on improving skin health and function.
Today, Rejuran is internationally recognised as one of the most established and researched polynucleotide skin regeneration treatments and is commonly described as a:
regenerative injectable
skin repair treatment
bio-stimulatory skin booster
Unlike traditional aesthetic injectables, Rejuran does not aim to fill lines or create volume. Instead, it supports the skin’s own biological repair mechanisms, helping to restore skin quality and resilience at a cellular level.
For this reason, Rejuran is frequently used as part of a long-term skin optimisation and skin longevity strategy, particularly for patients seeking subtle, natural and progressive improvements in skin quality.
Treatment areas and Rejuran® options
Rejuran polynucleotide therapy can be used safely on multiple areas of the face and body where skin quality improvement, texture enhancement, and regenerative support are desired.
At Fisher Clinics, the most appropriate Rejuran formulation is selected following your medical consultation, based on your skin, treatment area and treatment goals.
Rejuran® (standard formulation)
Standard Rejuran® is the core polynucleotide treatment used for overall skin rejuvenation and skin quality optimisation across larger and multiple treatment areas.
It is commonly used for:
Full face – to support overall skin rejuvenation, firmness and radiance
Cheeks, temples and jawline – for texture refinement and deeper skin health support
Neck and décolletage – to improve elasticity and hydration
Hands – to support dermal density and improve the appearance of ageing skin
Standard Rejuran is particularly suited to patients who wish to improve:
skin texture and tone
hydration and skin density
early signs of ageing
overall skin resilience and radiance
It is most often selected as a whole-face or multi-area regenerative treatment as part of a long-term skin optimisation programme.
Rejuran I® (eye-specific formulation)
Rejuran I® is specifically designed for use in delicate, thin-skinned areas, most commonly the under-eye and periorbital region.
It is primarily used to:
improve thin, fragile and crepey under-eye skin
support skin elasticity and brightness around the eyes
reduce the appearance of dark circles caused by translucent skin and visible underlying vessels
improve overall skin quality in an area that is often unsuitable for heavier or volumising injectable products
Rejuran I® has a lighter, smoother formulation, allowing it to spread safely and evenly within delicate tissue.
This makes it particularly suitable for patients seeking a subtle improvement in periorbital skin quality and under-eye darkness, without adding volume, altering eye shape, or using cross-linked hyaluronic acid products in this high-risk area.
Rejuran S® (scar and texture-focused formulation)
Rejuran S® is a more concentrated polynucleotide formulation designed for focused skin repair and textural concerns, particularly in areas where deeper collagen remodelling and structural support are beneficial.
It is most commonly used for:
Targeted textural concerns, such as acne scars and uneven skin surface
Mild to moderate surgical scars and other focal areas of skin disruption (e.g. post-injury or post-procedure)
Localised areas of compromised skin quality or pitted texture
Supporting deeper dermal repair in specific problem areas
The formulation’s higher polynucleotide concentration and thicker consistency allow for precise placement into scarred or damaged tissue where enhanced regenerative support is required, helping to stimulate collagen production and support restoration of dermal structure.
This makes Rejuran S® particularly suitable for patients concerned about:
Acne scars and depressed textural irregularities
Surgical scars or healed wound sites that could benefit from enhanced dermal renewal
Areas of skin damage requiring targeted regeneration rather than general skin quality boost
Rejuran S® is usually used as a targeted treatment rather than a full-face skin rejuvenation procedure, and can be combined with standard Rejuran or other aesthetic treatments as part of a personalised treatment plan that addresses both texture and overall skin quality concerns.
