Subdermal filler treatment in Oxford

Subdermal fillers are used to restore age-related volume loss, enhance natural contours, and bring balance back to facial features. Over time, the deeper tissues of the face lose collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, leading to reduced support and definition. Fillers help replace this lost volume, restoring a smoother, lifted and more youthful appearance.

At Fisher Clinics, you can expect safe, evidence-based, and natural-looking results — performed by an experienced medical doctor using premium hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm® and Stylage®.

You may also wish to combine the treatment with wrinkle relaxation or mesotherapy treatments, in order to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles or hydrate and improve complexion.

What is Subdermal filler?

Subdermal fillers in one form or another have been approved in clinical practice since 1981. Modern fillers contain Hyaluronic Acid that naturally occurs in the body.

Fillers are not a drug, they are classed as a medical device. This means that less qualified practitioners are legally allowed to administer it, however, it carries significant risk if not administered correctly. You should always see a medical professional for filler treatment.

The filler material is deposited under the surface of the skin and leaves a natural looking and natural feeling enhancement to the volume of the tissues.

What is the treatment experience?

The filler will be administered via a very fine needle either just under the surface or into the deeper tissues to create the desired effect.

Depending on the area you are having treated, the procedure will take around 30 minutes. The area can be prepared with a numbing local anaesthetic cream but the fillers usually also contain anaesthetic.

There is likely to be some swelling and possibly some bruising. You will be able to go back to your usual activities straight away, but the swelling may take 24-48 hours to settle.

The fillers can last up to 12 months in the deeper areas, and for areas closer to the surface, such as in the lips, the effect is closer to 3-4 months. The treatment can be repeated.

Cheek Contouring & Mid-Face Lift

Cheek fillers restore youthful shape and structure to the mid and upper face, enhancing cheekbone definition and providing gentle lift to the tissues below. This has the added benefit of softening heaviness in the lower face and improving the appearance of early jowls — often producing a subtle, non-surgical “facelift” effect.

Nasolabial Line Softening

The nasolabial lines (the creases running from the nose to the corners of the mouth) become more pronounced as mid-face tissues descend with age. By restoring lost volume in the mid-face or directly treating the lines themselves, fillers can gently lift and smooth this area, creating a fresher, softer appearance without altering natural expression.

Chin and Jawline definition

Marionette Line Correction

Marionette lines, which extend downward from the corners of the mouth, can make the face appear tired or downturned. Subtle filler placement helps to lift these corners and smooth the lower face, restoring a more relaxed and positive expression.

Chin & Jawline Definition

Chin and jawline injections can refine and balance facial proportions, often creating a more heart-shaped and feminine appearance. Strategically placed filler enhances the chin’s projection and defines the angle of the jaw — improving structure and harmony in profile and front-on views alike.

Pre-Jowl Sulcus Rejuvenation

As the jawline begins to lose definition over time, small hollows known as the pre-jowl sulcus can appear on either side of the chin. Carefully placed filler here helps to restore structure and continuity along the jawline, significantly softening the appearance of jowls and creating a smoother, more seamless transition from the mid-face to the chin. This treatment is often combined with chin and jaw-angle enhancement for a beautifully balanced and rejuvenated lower face.

Lip Enhancement

Lip filler treatments are designed to either enhance what is naturally there or restore what has been lost over time — adding gentle volume, refining shape, and improving symmetry. The result is soft, hydrated lips that harmonise with your facial features and look beautifully natural, never overdone.
